I
couldn't take a picture beyond this point. If I was able to take a closer picture,
behind me there are small towns and flag poles representing north and south
Korea. North Korea has the largest flag pole in the world.
These
are images from the DMZ. It's the neutral area between North and South Korea
where the ceasefire line was established. My tour guide leader was a crazy and
irratic woman who couldn't stop talking. She had a shouting match with the bus
driver before I got picked up at my hotel. The driver tried to mess with her
by moving our van abruptly while she was stepping off or standing inside the
van which caused her to almost fall. I heard the story from other people on
the tour who were there before me. It was hilarious when I heard it. I guess
you had to of been there =). Anyway, about the DMZ, I just had an eerie feeling
the whole time like I'd be shot or something. I wasn't supposed to take picutres
of the soliders but I did anyway! It's a really good tour to take, to just experience
the tension which exists to this present day between the south and the north.
This
is a picture of me on freedom bridge. Behind me is a railroad track that's never
in use because trains won't run here.
Here
are the soldiers! I kept saying to myself that I was going to be shot...hahha
This
is a picture of the small train into the 3rd infiltration tunnel. It goes really
far down! Just notice everyone with the helmets. You have to wear them because
the tunnel is a little low for some people and I would have hit my head numerous
times if I hadn't worn the helmet.
I
took this picture from our van as we were leaving the DMZ. You probably can't
see it well, but these are soldiers running across the freeway. One of the guys
(in the middle) has a bazooka. It was just a weird scene. Everyone was thinking
"what the hell?!?!"
