Here's
the entrance to my place. Shoes off, of course, before stepping onto the carpet.
The cabinet to the right is another place to store shoes so they're not lying
everywhere, but since I'm the only resident at the moment, I'll let it slide.
This
is the kitchen/dining room. To the right is a balcony to hang out on, it's dirty
so I don't go out there. Left of the kitchen and straight ahead is the front
door.
Here's
a picture of the living room/dining room. So in essence, the kitchen, dining
room, and living room are all in one fairly large room. Straight ahead (past
the curtains) is another balcony which I hang my clothes on. To the right is
the first of two bedrooms separated by a sliding door.
Toire
wa doko desu ka? Where's the toilet? It's in a tiny room near the front entrance.
There's a sink which runs after you flush the toilet. I keep getting paranoid
that the water coming out is the water I had just flushed, but I hope to God
it's clean stuff.
Here's
the washing machine and sink. It's a room to the left side as you're entering
the door. The washing machine only has cold water, and it shakes like crazy
when it's running. I must annoy the hell out of my neighbors downstairs .
This
is the shower room, which is right next to the washing machine room. I don't
actually take a shower in the bathtub. There's a wash area where I'm currently
standing in the picture, which has a drain in the middle of the floor for me
to shower in. According to Japanese tradition, you're supposed to wash yourself
outside of the bathtub, so that you're clean once you do go into the tub for
a bath. But yeah, I just take a shower and don't even bother with the bath.
